As our time living communally comes to an end, the concept of “home” has been hanging heavy on my mind. The last time we were “on our own”, it felt like we were marooned on an island of our own making.We had no friends or family nearby. What once seemed like we were staking our own claim quickly transformed into a realm of isolation after having a baby. And the absence of our proverbial village left us feeling alone and exposed. Taking the time to recalibrate surrounded by community, was just what we needed. Press play to hear how we’re feeling inspired to redefine what home means to us now.
What do we want home to be? What do we want our home say about us? What kind of things do we want to bring into our home? What do we want to leave outside the front door? How do we want to cultivate community beyond our nuclear family?
