I am a black woman living in America. And that means something.
While it seems that we are experiencing a collective awakening as more and more people understand that we are reckoning with racism right here and right now, racism is nothing new. For some, speaking out against the injustices that black people have faced for centuries IS.
In this solo show episode, I share some ways that we can spark honest conversations about racism. We will fumble our words along the way, and it will feel uncomfortable. But choosing to stay silent will not lead to lasting, meaningful change.

Until we actually single out what it is that we are… reckoning with, in this case, racism, we’re not going to be able to have open and honest conversations about it because it will be hiding in plain sight. And I don’t want to be ok with that anymore.
